It is a versatile plaster that can be easily used for both external and internal work, while ensuring durability and resistance to external negative factors. The advantages of such mixtures include their long-term viability: you can immediately knead a sufficiently large amount of plaster, for example, in a concrete mixer, and be completely sure that it does not solidify in the container during operation. The list of advantages is supplemented by the strength of the finished surface and the low cost of the mixtures themselves.
But it was not without its drawbacks: long-term viability also turns into a long period of drying of the plaster layer, so the next stage of wall finishing can only be started after a couple of weeks, and putty will be required for further work. Cement-sand plaster is not very good adhesion to smooth concrete surfaces, and the process of its application is not the easiest. In addition, the finished surface is heat-resistant and remains in its original form for a long time when exposed to high temperatures. The composition of gypsum plaster mixes includes gypsum and various mineral additives. They are used only for internal work, due to a number of properties. So, such a plaster is not resistant to moisture, which limits its scope. Continuing the topic of its shortcomings, it is worth noting that it is not very viable, and the finished solution hardens very quickly, so you will have to prepare it in portions. The resulting surface is very weakly resistant to mechanical influences, and according to this indicator, gypsum plaster is very inferior to cement and even lime.
But the list of advantages is able to cover all the disadvantages of such compositions. So, gypsum plaster hardens very quickly and does not require further processing, so the duration of repair work can be minimized. The application process is also as simple as possible, and one person will be able to plaster about 30-40 m2 per day, and the layer does not slip, lies flat on the surface, is highly plastic, after drying it does not shrink or crack, and the application process itself is not so dirty and dusty.
This is not a very popular type of mixture, which has a high price. The composition includes sand, cement, polymer additives and fibers that give the composition certain properties. Usually, such plasters are used during the installation of insulation, or for leveling the walls when laying the mesh.
Plaster mixes by functional features
Although the composition of plaster mixes is relatively simple, additives to them can slightly change their properties and areas of use.
The plaster mix can be conventional when it contains only binder and filler. Such compositions are used to level the surface and prepare it for subsequent finishing. It can be simple, improved, and high quality. If the first two types are used for work in utility and technical rooms, for facades, then the latter is used only in the decoration of residential premises.

The special properties are explained by the presence of pumice, slag, expanded clay or perlite in the composition;
